Silver Creek: About the Company

Century Springs
Century Springs is located in Waukesha County in southeastern Wisconsin. Waukesha County’s historical spring water use dates back to the 1800’s, a time known as “The Spring Era.” During this time, people from around the country would travel miles to enjoy the spring waters of the Waukesha area.
Century Springs’ commercial use was first developed in 1952 by a local resident. Before this, area residents had used the spring for over 100 years. While various enterprises used the spring for a source during the 60’s and 70’s, the spring has always retained its name. In 1987, Century Spring Bottling Company, Inc., acquired the spring and the surrounding 80 acres. It remains under this family operation today.

Geologic data indicate that the source of the spring water comes from glacial deposits such as sand and gravel. The spring is located in the area known as the Kettle Moraine, which derives its name from large “kettles” (low areas) and “moraines” (high areas) that developed as a result of glacial movement. In this area two tremendous glaciers (the Green Bay glacier and the Michigan glacier) moved alongside each other resulting in these very unusual land formations as well as the various springs.

Today this spring flows at approximately 300 gallons per minute, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as it has done for many years. Tens of millions of gallons of this spring water has been enjoyed in homes and offices.

The spring water in its natural state flows through a granular activated carbon system and a five-micron filtration screen to remove sediment. Then it is filtered again as a safeguard against contaminants, and ozonated to kill bacteria. Ozone, 3,000 times more effective than chlorine, breaks down into oxygen, leaving no residual taste after our Silver Creek bottles are sealed. The water is shipped to us in 6,000-gallon dedicated stainless steel tankers at a rate of 2 to 3 tankers a day. At Silver Creek, we again ozonate the water, micron filter, carbon filter and expose it to UV light (if necessary) to ensure quality before our label, or yours, is put on the bottle.

Century Springs water is the only spring water source used by Silver Creek Bottling Company. Now it is time for you to enjoy this water for yourself.
